| Rare Longines Display Longines factories made some of Switzerlands finest quality watches. A leader in the manufacture of unusual and complicated watches in the early part of the 20th century! The best period for collecting Longines. Only a hand full of these Longines displays were made in the early 1900s by Longines America promotions. It incorporates the most desirable and collectible watches Longines made including actual Chronographs, Lindbergh hour angle, Marine Chronometer, and large Charles Lindbergh with blue enamelled sterling bezel mounted for display. Charles A. Lindbergh made the first solo nonstop transatlantic flight from New York to Paris (33 hours and 30 minutes) in 1927. In 1931 he designed a watch for Longines called the hour-angle air navigation watch. It also has an "Honor Roll-The Pioneers of Aviation and Exploration" in the center which lists many famous people who regularly wore Longines watches such as Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, etc. . This is the only display of this type known in existence to be complete and in perfect condition . My appreciation to Constantinos Temponeres for the privilege of presenting this to you, enjoy! |
